Perspectives - 20" x 16" x 0.5"
Original artwork on stretched canvas | Acrylic | Framed and ready to be hung | Gloss finish | Created: 2024
“Perspectives” came from a simple idea—how easily our view of something changes depending on where we’re standing or what headspace we’re in. I kept thinking about how we all look at the same things but take away something totally different. That’s what I wanted to capture here—those layers, those shifting viewpoints.
As I was painting, the horizontal bands started to feel like windows or snapshots—each one holding its own little mood. Some felt calm and muted, almost meditative. Others came out bold and chaotic, full of color and energy, almost demanding attention. It became this back-and-forth between control and letting go—between the steady lines and the unpredictable bursts of color underneath.
For me, “Perspectives” is a reminder that there’s always more than one way to see things. It’s meant to pull you in and make you look a little longer, maybe even think about what’s sitting just beneath the surface.
It’s a piece that can settle into a space and still feel like it’s quietly shifting—like your own perspective might change every time you walk past it.
